2014 Chevy Impala InteriorConsidered one of the most exciting updates in auto technology in recent years, the Chevy MyLink Valet Mode keeps your belongings safe and secure. Tom Gill Chevrolet has a vast selection of the latest Chevrolet vehicles equipped with Valet Mode features, including the 2015 Chevrolet Impala. Read on to find out more about this extremely advanced concept.

What Does Valet Mode Do?

At this point, you might be wondering what Valet Mode does as part of the Chevy MyLink information and entertainment system. For one, it helps protect anything you leave in your car, as well as your valuable information and privacy. When you give someone access to your car, such as a valet driver or anyone else that might be driving your vehicle, you can lock both your data and belongings using a convenient PIN code.

How Do I Protect My Valuables?

Behind the large eight-inch MyLink touchscreen is a secondary hidden glove box. When accessed, the MyLink screen swings open to reveal a safe-like area, and when you return the screen to its original position, it physically locks. To gain entrance to that compartment, which is just the right size for smartphones, wallets, and other electronics, you must enter a passcode.

How Does the PIN Number Work?

Your PIN number limits access to your MyLink system, meaning you must enter your passcode whenever it has been placed in Valet Mode. This effectively blocks data theft, and requires that anyone who wants to use the MyLink program must have your PIN number. You even have the option to register two separate PIN numbers for added security– one for your data and one to reach the hidden compartment behind the touchscreen.

What Else Does the MyLink System Do?

Beyond the Valet Mode features, the Chevrolet MyLink system offers plenty of nifty technology. Connect up to 10 different devices to Bluetooth, listen to your favorite playlists, and use voice controls to send test messages and make phone calls without ever removing your hands from the steering wheel or taking your eyes off the road. You’ll wonder how you ever drove without technology right at your fingertips.
