Electric cars of the past had a reputation for having short range and limited power, but Chevy has changed that with the 2017 Chevrolet Volt and the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt:

• 2017 Chevrolet Volt: The Volt is powered by two electric engines supported by a gas-powered generator that takes over when the charge is depleted. This system delivers up to an estimated 420 miles of travel on a full tank of gas with 53 miles of electric-only driving potential from the 149-hp motor.
• 2017 Chevrolet Bolt: The all-electric Chevy Bolt delivers as much as 238 miles of travel on a single charge and provides up to 200 hp and as much as 268 lb.-ft. of torque.

Both Chevy cars share access to advanced features like Chevy MyLink with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities, 240-volt charging capabilities, navigation, and the MyChevrolet mobile app that allows drivers to check the battery charge, unlock the doors and more, but there are a few differences as well:

• 2017 Chevrolet Volt: The Volt is a sedan that offers seating for five with a compact 10.6 cubic feet of secure trunk space for valuables and parcels you’d rather not have rattling around the cabin.
• 2017 Chevrolet Bolt:The Chevrolet Bolt is a hatchback with a slightly smaller cabin that still provides access to as much as 56.6 cubic feet of usable space for larger items like luggage and groceries.
