2017 Chevrolet Bolt

General Motors is taking its alternatively powered vehicle lineup to the next level with the introduction of the all-new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt all-electric vehicle (EV). This wagon is set for release later this year, and it offers comfortable seating for five people, a tremendous amount of cargo space, state-of-the-art technologies, and an impressive drive range for an electric car—all for a competitive price. Take your driving to the next level with the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt at Tom Gill Chevrolet, your Cincinnati-area Chevrolet dealer in Florence.

Starting at $37,495

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt is offered at an MSRP from $37,495. If you take the available $7,500 federal tax credit into consideration for buyers of EVs, then you’re looking at a starting price under $30,000. Some states also offer additional tax savings.

Performance Specs and Electric Driving Range

The powertrain for the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt is an electric motor that comes generated by a 60-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and connected to a direct-drive transmission. This system combines to serve up a confident 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque, which Chevrolet says will be able to propel it to 60 mph in under seven seconds. You won’t have to worry about running out of juice too quickly, either, because the EPA estimates that this wagon can go 238 miles on a full charge before depletion.

Quick Charging

With the available 240-volt charger, you’ll be able to get up to 25 miles of driving from a single hour of charging. From empty, a full charge can be completed in around 9.5 hours. Opt for the CD Fast Charging technology, and GM estimates that you’ll be able to get an impressive 90 miles after 30 minutes of charging.

Tech Features

It’s not just the powertrain of the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt that’s more advanced than the competition. Step inside the cabin, and you’ll find a plethora of premium technologies designed to keep you fully connected, comfortable, and safe.

  • Smartphone App Integration: Take full advantage of the Chevrolet Bolt’s high-resolution, 10.2-inch diagonal touchscreen display with integrated smartphone app integration via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google Maps
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi: As part of GM’s OnStar telematics system, the standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection turns your vehicle into a mobile hotspot that allows up to seven different devices to connect to the internet at once.
  • Advanced Safety:In addition to OnStar’s telematics services, the Bolt is offered with additional advanced safety features, including front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, side blind zone alert, and rear cross traffic alert. You’ll also have a full view of everything around you thanks to the rear camera mirror and surround-view camera.
2017 Chevrolet Bolt Technology

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt hasn’t yet been released, but positive reviews are already starting to come in.

  • Edmunds: “With impressive range, compact car agility and an affordable price tag, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV looks like a game-changer in the small but growing market for pure electric vehicles.”
  • Car and Driver: “Quick on its feet and fun to toss around, the Bolt EV is an affordable and enjoyable electric car worth waiting for. A 200-hp electric motor draws power from a floor-mounted battery pack and provides an EPA-rated range of 238 miles per charge and 119 MPGe combined. The high-tech cabin has a 10.2-inch touchscreen and a smaller, driver-facing 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster. Onboard Wi-Fi, 4G LTE connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto will be available.”
  • Motor Trend: “Designing the Bolt from scratch on a brand-new architecture presented great opportunities for integration of the electric equipment, such as designing an extra-long (for a B-class car) wheelbase with GM’s shortest front and rear overhangs to accommodate a big, low, flat battery pack as an integrated structural element. The pack contributes 25 percent to the torsional stiffness of the car. That’s a luxury that’s impossible when electrifying an existing gas car”
