Introducing the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition
Alongside the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Chevrolet Corvette Z06, General Motors set to work on a distinct version of its iconic American supercar with a new model to add to the lineup—the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. Set to go on sale sometime later this year, the Chevrolet Grand Sport is a high-performance model, and to trumpet in the debut Chevrolet introduced a limited run special edition model with the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition. Find out what this model will look like and get the full picture by visiting Tom Gill Chevrolet, your Cincinnati-area Chevrolet dealer in Florence, KY.
Stylish Design
The all-new Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition was unveiled alongside the other Grand Sport models at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show in Switzerland. This model has been designed to signal its limited run status from front to back, including standard Watkins Glen Gray exterior contrasted by the fender stripes’ rich Tension Blue color, black wheels, and satin black body stripes that reach along the hood, roof line, and down the back.
Inside the cabin, the Grand Sport Collector Edition boasts a dashboard plaque and embossed representations of the original Grand Sport model in the headrests. The cabin design is a bright blue color all its own, while the rest of the cabin is wrapped in black suede apart from some stylish blue leather accents.
What Makes it Run
Like other versions of the Grand Sport, the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition will be powered by the Stingray’s 6.2L V8 engine. This should produce an output of 460 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. What sets it apart from the Stingray, though, is that it is outfitted with much of the performance equipment of the Corvette Z06, such as a Magnetic Ride Control suspension system, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a performance dual exhaust system.
