2017 Chevrolet Colorado Reviews
You’d be hard pressed to find a more capable pickup for your money than the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado, and the industry reviews are rolling in to back that up. The Car Connection says the Colorado “makes a compelling case for the way most of us truly use our pickups,” and Car and Driver notes that it’s “quiet, clever, and capable.” Furthering the case is Motor Trend, which says it’s “easy to maneuver,” while Kelley Blue Book takes note of the all-new ZR2’s “off-road mission” and “cutting edge technology.” Read the reviews before seeing the Colorado in person at Tom Gill Chevrolet!
The Car Connection
“Don’t quite need a full-size truck? The Chevrolet Colorado makes a compelling case for the way most of us truly use our pickups.”
The Chevy Colorado is fully capable of handling whatever you throw at it, while remaining accessibly price from only $20,055. You’ll have your choice between a 2.5L inline-four with 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque, a 2.8L turbo-diesel inline-four with 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, and a 3.6L V6 with 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. Max fuel economy comes from the turbo-diesel engine at 30 mpg highway.
Car and Driver
“The quiet, clever, and capable Colorado offers nearly as much utility as full-size pickups—minus the lane-hogging size.”
On top of its commanding horsepower and torque, the Colorado can also handle serious loads. Its rugged body-on-frame truck design, high-strength steel frame, available 4WD system, and towing packages help it to achieve a max towing rating of 7,700 pounds and a max payload of 1,516 pounds.
“Car-like is the word most often used for the Colorado’s ride and handling qualities, and it’s apt. That car-like nature makes the Colorado easy to maneuver in parking lots, tight spaces, or when backing to hitch a trailer — in spite the Colorado’s true physical size, which is not much smaller than the full-size trucks of the 1990s.”
While Motor Trend rightly praises the Colorado’s car-like maneuvering, we’d like to also highlight the Colorado’s interior comforts. These range from the Chevy MyLink touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the OnStar telematics system with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, emergency roadside assistance, navigation, and automatic crash notification.
Kelley Blue Book
“Starting with the basic Colorado, the ZR2 incorporates cutting-edge technology to optimize the Colorado for its off-road mission without sacrificing its on-road livability.”
The all-new ZR2 is an off-road giant that not only rivals any midsize pickup truck, but can also go toe to toe with a number of full-size pickups. Highlights include Multimatic Dynamics Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers, an aggressive stance, an off-road suspension, front and rear electronic locking differentials, and much more.
