Chevrolet Trax
Designed with urbanite adventurers in mind, the Chevrolet Trax boasts a little bit of everything. Its size proves perfect for maneuvering through tight city streets, its interior ideal for seating passengers and loading up cargo, and its high-tech features propel it into the future. What’s more, the Trax has remained a readily affordable option for drivers in Florence and Cincinnati since its introduction to the Chevy lineup in 2013, and that doesn’t seem apt to change.

Current Model

Currently on sale at Tom Gill Chevrolet, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax has much to offer. Between its turbocharged 1.4L four-cylinder engine that produces a composed 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, its ample cargo space measuring at a maximum of 48.4 cubic feet, and its slight stature prime for even the toughest parking spots, it seems this subcompact crossover SUV covers it all. But it gets better: when the engine delivers power to all four wheels, the Trax can achieve up to 31 mpg highway, truly notable fuel economy for a vehicle making that kind of performance.
The Trax can also keep you connected on the go thanks to OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. This apparatus converts your vehicle into an Internet hotspot for up to seven devices, allowing for streaming, social media usage, and web surfing no matter where you are.
Reviews
It’s expected that the staff at Tom Gill Chevrolet will rave about the Chevrolet Trax, but when the critics sing nothing but praise, you had better take note:
- Edmunds: “Its tall body not only provides a wealth of headroom, but it also allows for a taller seating position front and rear, and thus generous legroom. So in spite of its small footprint, the Trax has enough space for four people and their luggage, or even five in a pinch if the backseat occupants are kids.”
- The Car Connection: “In our maneuvers, we think Chevy’s calibration engineers did well: There’s enough feedback when you need it, and the weighting felt right at pretty much any speed.”
- Auto Trader: “Subcompact crossovers are all the rage these days, so automakers are racing to bring fresh offerings to the marketplace. The Trax generally has the basics covered, and it throws in standard tech features that would make some luxury brands blush.”
- Kelly Blue Book: “We were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the new Trax’s ride is and its nimbleness even at speed.”

Future Models

The upcoming 2016 Chevrolet Trax has undergone a select few changes, including five new colors and 18-inch aluminum wheels. The 2016 version will also receive some new equipment, such as standard carpeted floor mats and an optional power driver seat. On the performance side of things, a new six-speed automatic transmission replaces the current Trax’s for an improved all-around performance.
True to form, Chevrolet hit the ground running when it introduced the 2015 Trax, and it seems that the automaker is well on its way to establishing itself in the subcompact crossover SUV segment as it continues to add more to the 2016 model.
