If you’re looking to give your daily Cincinnati, OH commute a serious upgrade by leaving gasoline power behind, you’ve come to the right place! Chevy currently offers two high-performance electric vehicles in its lineup, the Bolt EV and the Bolt EUV. While most electric vehicles tend to be quite heavy due to the size of their batteries, Chevy has designed the Bolt family to be as lightweight as possible to maximize the electric range and performance under the hood! Tom Gill Chevrolet has more details on the Chevy Bolt weight, including details about its electric battery, in the guide below. Check it out, then head to our inventory to see what we currently have available!

Chevy Bolt Curb Weight: Bolt EV vs. Bolt EUV

The Chevy Bolt curb weight varies based on a few different factors, and the first is whether you choose the Bolt EV or Bolt EUV. The Bolt EV is classified as a bit larger, so it’s a bit larger and heavier than the Bolt EV, which is classified as a four-door hatchback. There’s also some variation between the individual trim levels of each model, with the entry-level trim being more lightweight for both vehicles. Here are all the details:

Chevy Bolt EV Curb Weights

  • 1LT: 3,589 pounds
  • 2LT: 3,624 pounds

Chevy Bolt EUV Curb Weights

  • LT: 3,680 pounds
  • Premier: 3,715 pounds

So, why should you care about the Chevy Bolt curb weight? In addition to knowing how much payload you can safely carry, it’s important because it affects the electric range of each vehicle. The Bolt EV is smaller and lighter-weight, so it manages an electric range of 259 miles. By contrast, the slightly heavier bolt EUV achieves 247 miles — still respectable, and more than enough for the daily Covington driver!

How Much Does a Chevy Bolt Battery Weigh?

A significant portion of an electric vehicle’s weight is contributed to the electric battery. EV batteries are much larger and more robust than those found in gasoline-powered cars, because they need to power the entire vehicle as well as the internal systems. The Chevy Bolt EV and EUV are both powered by the same battery, a 65-kWh 350-volt lithium ion model under the hood. How much does a Chevy Bolt battery weigh? it comes in at 947 pounds, meaning it makes up nearly a quarter of the Chevy Bolt curb weight!
