For the 2013 model year, the Chevrolet Sonic received a range of tech upgrades to make it an even more desirable option in the economy car segment. All 2013 Sonics boast standard Bluetooth phone connectivity throughout the trim lineup, and they have the advanced Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, a touchscreen interface and software system that gives you Bluetooth streaming audio, a navigation system, and smartphone app integration. This model year also marked the introduction of the RS trim level, which includes exclusive sport styling and sport tuning for a more high-performance experience on the road.

The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic represented the first model year for this car. It brought Chevrolet’s subcompact lineup to a new generation by delivering an economy car at an affordable price but with a more upscale feel. This included more high quality materials throughout the cabin, as well as more room to stretch out.

As a four-door sedan, the 2012 Sonic has seating for up to five, a total interior volume of 105.0 cubic feet, and a trunk the measures 14.9 cubic feet. The four-door hatchback version of the Sonic also seats up to five while increasing the total interior volume to 110.0 cubic feet. Behind the rear seat, there’s 19.0 cubic feet of dedicated cargo room, while the rear seat folds down to reveal a maximum cargo volume of 47.7 cubic feet.

The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo was the last model year for this subcompact sedan and hatchback before it was replaced by the Chevrolet Sonic. New this year was the OnStar Directions and Connections telematics plan. Other available features included remote keyless entry, Bluetooth, and steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise control, along with leatherette upholstery and a sunroof on the high end of the trim ladder.

Powering the 2011 Aveo is a 1.6L four-cylinder engine that makes 107 hp and 104 lb-ft of torque via a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. EPA estimates come in at up to 35 mpg highway and 27 mpg city.
