One year after a redesign, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette brought a number of high-tech upgrades to this high-performance sports car. Chevrolet’s OnStar telematics system received an upgrade on this Corvette, giving you the ability to stream internet on up to seven devices at once through the system’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection. An even bigger addition to this year’s Corvette lineup, though, was the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Z06, which gets its power from a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine that pumps out a staggering 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough for it to move to 60 mph in only three seconds.
The Chevrolet Corvette was fully redesigned for the 2014 model year, with the title of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. At the heart this Corvette is a 6.2L V8 engine that pumps up to 460 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via either a seven-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain can motivate the Corvette to 60 mph in just over four seconds, and it also gets an EPA-estimated 29 mpg highway and 17 mpg city. On the outside, the 2014 Corvette has more shapely curves, while the cabin has been fitted with more high-end materials and upgraded tech features, making for a fully modern experience behind the wheel and in the passenger seat.
The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette was the last model year for the sixth generation of this iconic American sports car. For the most part, it resembles the previous model years in this generation. There are some highlights, though, including the introduction of a Grand Sport edition with stylish black wheels and a premium spoiler, as well as a 60th Anniversary Edition with a limited run that includes special badging and design characteristics. Like other versions of this generation, you can find it with high-tech features like OnStar telematics, satellite radio, an infotainment system with a touchscreen interface, and a built-in navigation system.
In terms of performance, the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 benefits from an available ZR1 Performance Traction Management system, as well as high-performance Michelin sports tires. The interior also gets a big upgrade this year with the addition of more comfortable seats with robust side bolsters and extra padding in the armrests, as well as a more stylish steering wheel. When it comes to entertainment, this was the first model to add a premium nine-speaker Bose stereo system to the mix. For collectors, there’s also a Centennial Special Edition version for this model year, with unique black design elements both inside and out.
There were a number of changes to the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette, including a variety of different performance upgrades to the ZR1’s suspension, the Z06’s bodywork, and a number of models’ tires. You’ll also find the addition of a USB port and auxiliary input for the navigation system. Like other sixth generation Corvette models, there are three different powertrain options available, each of which is offered with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The base engine is a 6.2L V8 that makes 430 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. Move up to the Z06 for a 7.0L V8 that dishes out 505 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Standing alone at the top of the pack is the Corvette ZR1, which comes with a supercharged 6.2L V8 that generates a blistering 638 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque.
